About The Position

They are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their team, passionate about patient-centered care and thriving in a supportive, collaborative environment. This position involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders to help individuals improve their speech, language, cognitive-communication, and overall quality of life. The role is split between Onyx Care of Ruston and Onyx Care of Bernice.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and patient-care skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Prior experience in speech therapy
  • CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations to diagnose speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans to address patient needs.
  • Provide therapy sessions focusing on articulation, cognitive-communication, and swallowing difficulties.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on techniques to enhance communication and swallowing function.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including occupational and physical therapists, physicians, and nursing staff, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.
  • Stay current with best practices and advancements in speech-language pathology.
