This is a most urgent opportunity within a large, well-supported acute care hospital system. POSITION OVERVIEW The Speech Language Pathologist provides evaluation and treatment for communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in an inpatient acute care setting. This role includes working with medically complex and stroke populations while collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team.

Requirements

Must have at least 1 year of Speech Language Pathologist experience
Experience with MBS (Modified Barium Swallow Study) strongly preferred
Experience with FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) strongly preferred
Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology required
Active Speech Language Pathologist license required (Florida or eligible)
Basic Life Support required
Ability to work in acute care inpatient setting
Strong clinical judgment and communication skills required

Responsibilities

Evaluate and treat speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
Perform and interpret Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) and FEES when applicable
Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and therapy teams
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery expectations
Maintain accurate and timely documentation
