About The Position

Cedarcrest is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and clinically skilled part-time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our interdisciplinary team. This role focuses on complex feeding concerns and Passy-Muir Valve (PMV) programs while providing comprehensive speech and language services to children and young adults in our residential and day school settings. The SLP is responsible for evaluation, treatment, consultation, and program development, playing a key role in supporting feeding safety, communication development, and respiratory-communication coordination through PMV programming. This position works closely with nursing, respiratory therapy, dietary, occupational and physical therapy, education staff, and families to ensure cohesive, child-centered care. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Speech Language Pathology program.
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of New Hampshire.
  • ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two years of pediatric experience preferred.
  • Experience with complex feeding disorders and Passy-Muir Valves strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Services Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and feeding evaluations upon physician referral.
  • Assess oral motor skills and develop therapeutic meal protocols in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Plan and implement individualized treatment programs with measurable progression.
  • Develop oral motor and feeding programs that can be carried out by education staff, nursing staff, and families.
  • Assess receptive and expressive language skills.
  • Evaluate and support alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) needs and assist in procurement of adaptive equipment.
  • Assess appropriateness for Passy-Muir Valve (PMV) use in collaboration with respiratory therapy and pulmonology teams.
  • Implement and monitor PMV programs and ensure progression as appropriate.
  • Assist with transition and discharge planning.
  • Consultation & Training Provide consultation to families, classroom staff, and nursing staff.
  • Train staff and families on therapeutic meal plans, dysphagia management, oral motor stimulation, PMV use, AAC devices, hearing aids, and assistive technology.
  • Monitor feeding and communication equipment status and hearing/audiological needs.
  • Provide in-service education within Cedarcrest.
  • Documentation & Team Participation Maintain accurate documentation for medical, educational, and billing purposes.
  • Participate in IEP development and Total Plan of Care meetings.
  • Attend resident care meetings, team meetings, and department meetings.
  • Travel regionally for outreach services as assigned.
