About The Position

Our centers offer a multi-disciplinary environment, working with teams in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology where you can continue to learn and grow! As a Speech-Language Pathologist at Lumen, your primary responsibilities include evaluating children, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based speech therapy interventions to support each child’s communication skills and overall development.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • Current license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Michigan
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose communication and feeding disorders
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals for each client based on their unique needs and abilities
  • Create goals and objectives for patients to work toward and identify areas of progress and challenges.
  • Provide one-on-one therapy sessions based on the client's individual treatment plan.
  • Counsel, educate and advise clients and their families regarding communicative, cognitive and swallowing functioning, and develops home programs for client as needed.
  • Maintain clinical documentation and progress notes and submit all required paperwork in a timely manner according to Lumen Pediatric Therapy’s policy (We use Hi Rasmus!)
  • Complete re-evaluations yearly to document progress and continued eligibility.
  • Collaborate, communicate, and assist with the training of clients, parents, and staff.
  • Maintain strict client confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for client and family.
  • Attend clinic or payor required ongoing trainings to advance clinical practice & professional development.
  • Assist with additional clinical and/or administrative duties as delegated
