Requirements

  • Masters Degree from an accredited graduate program in speech language pathology school
  • Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP, or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment
  • Excellent interpersonal, fiscal, and clinical skills
  • Computer proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients for swallowing disorders and communication/cognitive impairments, utilizing a variety of evidenced based therapeutic techniques
  • Establish treatment goals, as well as develop and implement appropriate Speech Pathology treatment programs based upon a full clinical evaluation
  • Provide rehabilitative services to patients under specific medical orders as part of a coordinated team
  • Participate in clinical conferences to share and coordinate the plan of care for patients
  • Treat residents one on one, not in a group type setting, so each patient gets individualized attention through private treatment sessions with a functional based treatment approach
  • Individualize treatment sessions
