About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital committed to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. Requirements

  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
  • Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association.

Responsibilities

  • Take initiative, responsibility, and action every day; understand physical, mental, psychological and social needs of patients.
  • Understand communication skills, evaluation, and treatment and work in collaboration with associates to provide quality interdisciplinary patient programming.
  • Provide a comprehensive evaluation of communication skills and/or swallowing function and provide goal-oriented treatment to facilitate maximum communication and/or swallowing potential.
  • Participate with fellow staff in monitoring the quality of services provided by the Rehab Therapy Department.
  • Participate in peer review for staff performance and appraisals.
  • Assist in the development of the SLP role in programs and services, as well as revising the departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining an adequate stock of supplies.
  • Exhibit willingness to share professional knowledge and experience and alert the Manager to educational needs.
