About The Position

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides direct rehabilitation care in speech therapy to patients referred by physicians, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. This role involves assessing and modifying therapy goals, overseeing Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to meet patient needs effectively.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited program in speech therapy (minimum MS or MA SLP).
• ASHA certified (CCCs) or eligible for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
• Currently registered/licensed in applicable State with an active license in good standing.
• One (1) year experience in post-acute care or related setting preferred.
• CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation.

Nice To Haves

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
• Knowledgeable of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing post-acute care facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct speech therapy to patients upon physician referral.
• Establish, assess, and modify realistic and functional therapy goals.
• Oversee and evaluate care provided by SLP CFYs.
• Follow speech therapy treatment plans under the direction of the supervising SLP CCC.
• Chart patient progress appropriately and timely.
• Utilize therapy software accurately for patient management.
• Participate in community health projects as appropriate.
• Maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and support departments.
• Demonstrate good body mechanics and independent decision-making when necessary.
• Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and confidential information.
