Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current Speech Language Pathologist license in the state of Massachusetts (or eligible for licensure).
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an acute care setting; home health experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Compassionate, reliable, and dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech-language pathology services as ordered by the physician and in accordance with the patient’s plan of care.
  • Review referrals, gather background data, and conduct assessments to determine the patient’s functional and psychosocial needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and modify as necessary based on patient progress.
  • Recommend and assist in acquiring adaptive equipment to enhance patient independence.
  • Communicate and consult with physicians regarding patient progress and any changes in treatment.
  • Supervise home health aides as appropriate per state and federal regulations.
  • Document visits, outcomes, and discharge planning accurately and promptly.
