About The Position
Are you an enthusiastic and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist prepared to assist students in Brooklyn develop their communication abilities? Knowledge Road is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team and deliver vital support to students in NYC Department of Education (DOE) schools. With a major shortage throughout the city of related service providers, your skills are critically needed to help students with addressing communication difficulties and reaching academic objectives. As an SLP with Knowledge Road, you will enjoy the freedom to deliver individualized therapy utilizing evidence-based methods, partnering with school teams and families to foster student communication development.
Requirements
- Current valid NYS license in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a school-based setting.
- Proficiency with electronic documentation and teletherapy platforms.
- NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required or willingness to complete prior to start.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, high-quality speech and language therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, according to their Individualized Education Service Programs/Individualized Education Programs (IESP/IEP).
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose and evaluate speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
- Develop and implement innovative and effective treatment plans customized to the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other school professionals to establish a holistic and supportive learning environment.
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all services, progress, and outcomes in accordance with DOE and Knowledge Road standards.
- Participate actively in IESP/IEP meetings, offering expert insights and recommendations to advance student progress.
