Requirements

  • Current, valid Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License in the state of California.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate positively to residents, families, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive Diagnostics: Evaluate and develop individualized treatment plans for residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, ensuring physician approval for all services.
  • Clinical Excellence: Deliver evidence-based treatments and adjust protocols as necessary to meet evolving resident needs.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Serve as a clinical preceptor for affiliating student programs and CFY clinicians, providing expert guidance and supervision.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in Patient Care Conferences, Utilization Review (UR), and Rehabilitation meetings to ensure integrated care.
  • Education & Training: Lead in-service training for facility staff and provide specialized caregiver training and maintenance programs for families during discharge planning.
  • Compliance: Maintain precise documentation, including evaluations and progress notes, in strict accordance with the SLP Board State Practice Act and payer requirements.
