Requirements

  • Must be able to traverse the classroom and adjust one's tone and height by bending or leaning in order to work with each child

  • Must be able to supervise outdoor duties

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), preferred
  • Previous experience in a school setting preferred, with an understanding of classical education values and practices being a plus
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and collaborate with parents, teachers, and administrators
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws related to special education and mental health services
  • Strong ethical standards and professionalism

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations for speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client needs
  • Manage Speech only identified student programs
  • Provide direct therapy sessions in individual and group settings, adapting methods to best meet client progress
  • Collaborate with family members, caregivers, and other health professionals to support the overall treatment plan
  • Maintain accurate and detailed client records, documenting progress, challenges, and adjustments to treatment
  • Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and other school or team-related discussions when required
  • Provide consultation and training to caregivers, educators, and other relevant stakeholders
  • Complete all required training and provide documentation as well as official college transcripts within 90 days of hire date
  • Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operations
  • Demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English to effectively perform their job responsibilities and communicate in the workplace
  • Perform other duties as assigned
