About The Position

Are you a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist ready to empower students in Queens to develop their communication potential? Knowledge Road is seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team and provide essential support to students in NYC Department of Education (DOE) schools. With a critical city-wide shortage of related service providers, your expertise is urgently needed to help students overcome communication barriers and achieve academic success. This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact, working with students with diverse communication needs in school-based settings. As an SLP with Knowledge Road, you will have the autonomy to deliver individualized therapy using evidence-based practices, working collaboratively with school teams and families to support student communication development.

Requirements

  • Current NYS license in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a school-based setting.
  • Proficiency with electronic documentation and teletherapy platforms.
  • NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required or willingness to obtain prior to start.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, high-quality speech and language therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, as mandated by their Individualized Education Service Programs/Individualized Education Programs (IESP/IEP).
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose and evaluate speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
  • Develop and implement creative and effective treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate closely with parents, teachers, and other school professionals to create a holistic and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain meticulous and timely documentation of all services, progress, and outcomes in compliance with DOE and Knowledge Road standards.
  • Actively participate in IESP/IEP meetings, offering expert insights and recommendations to guide student progress.
