About The Position

Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network is the premier rehabilitation provider in Connecticut. We provide rehabilitation services across the continuum - acute care hospitals, long term care facilities, sub-acute rehabilitation, homecare, outpatient centers, and in community settings such as senior centers, work sites, and schools and colleges. We offer over 30 outpatient locations with a variety of specialists, including oncology, women’s health, sports medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language, we are known for our commitment to high quality, customer focused outcomes. We’re seeking a per diem Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for our outpatient office in North Haven, CT who has a passion for patient care primarily in the area of neuro rehab with a focus on adult speech and language, cognitive communication, voice and swallowing disorders.

Requirements

• Completion of a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited academic program.
• State of Connecticut License in Speech-Language Pathology.
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluates patient’s level of function and determines, develops, and implements individualized treatment goals and plans in alignment with the patient/caregiver goals.
• Determines treatment strategies and delivers Speech Language Therapy services that identify, restore, and rehabilitate disorders of communication, cognition and swallowing.
• Maximizes a patient’s safety and independence through effective therapy.
• Performs medically based communicative and swallowing diagnostic and rehabilitative procedures on an outpatient basis.
• Emphasizes assessment and treatment of impairments related to stroke, brain injury, progressive neuromuscular diseases, and voice disorders.
