Responsibilities

• Provide developmentally and educationally based intervention to improve safety and independence.
• Input data into secure, computerized systems for reports and billing.
• Provide and direct speech therapy services to children aged birth to three, including assessment, treatment, program planning and implementation, related documentation, and communication.
• Conduct evaluations annually and perform six-month reviews of IFSPs to determine the need for intervention and treatment and produce IFSP goals.
• Produce discharge reports in advance of reaching age-out of Early Intervention to assist with the transition process, or as required at discharge from caseload.
• Interpret and communicate evaluation findings to parents and other treatment team members.
• Establish treatment schedule and provide frequency of services as determined by IFSP.
• Communicate and document changes to the IFSP as needed.
• Participate in co-treatment or IFSP consultation with other treatment team members to ensure coordination of patient care.
• Develop appropriate home or community programming to maintain and enhance the development of the child across therapeutic environments.
• Document results of the child’s assessment, treatment, follow-up and termination of services.
• Adapt treatment plans to meet the individual needs of the child.
• Provide recommendations and obtain appropriate equipment to improve patient’s communication or feeding skills and instruct family in the use of augmentative communication devices when necessary.
• Provide parent and caregiver education for appropriate speech-language procedures or home programming to allow carry-over of therapeutic remediation and goals in daily activities.
• Supervise students and provide mentorship, as needed.
• Review the quality and appropriateness of the total services delivered and of individual speech therapy programs for effectiveness and efficiency, using predetermined criteria.
• Communicate with management regarding caseload status and capacity for new referrals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
