About The Position

TransPerfect is seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist to build a strong Speech Language Therapy program. The role involves optimizing the functionality and skills of patients, evaluating and treating residents based on physician orders, and screening facility residents. The Speech Language Pathologist will complete all necessary documentation and attend required meetings and in-services, including family meetings and care plans. In conjunction with the Director of Rehabilitation, the SLP will develop programs tailored to the needs of facility residents throughout the continuum of care. Compliance with infection control procedures and environmental protocols while following OBRA Resident’s Rights Guidelines is essential. The SLP will also provide consultation and clinical supervision to SLP-CFY, maintain a valid state license, and stay informed about issues related to the profession and healthcare environment. Responsibilities include appropriate scheduling of residents, facilitating family and staff in-services, and assisting the facility in meeting standards necessary for state and federal certification. Additional tasks may be assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements

  • Masters of Science Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Speech and Hearing Sciences
  • State Licensure or proof of registration to complete Clinical Fellowship year in Speech Pathology followed by certification
  • ASHA certification or proof of ASHA certification through grandfathering process
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in all situations
  • Strong time management and ability to manage caseload

  • Schedule residents appropriately
  • Facilitate and complete family and facility staff in-services and education
  • Assist the facility in meeting standards for state and federal certification
  • Complete all other tasks assigned by the manager/supervisor
