About The Position

The position is for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the Acute Care department at Ascension Saint Alexius, located in Hoffman Estates, IL. The schedule is PRN, requiring availability for days with 2 weekend shifts per month and 2 holidays per year. The role offers a competitive salary of $50.00 per hour. Candidates must have at least 1 year of work experience as an SLP, and Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is not offered.

Requirements

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Require Current Illinois license as Speech-language Pathologist or Temporary license as Speech-Language Pathologist if in Clinical Fellowship Year required.
• Recommend Current Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
• Education: High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of Acute Care experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients requiring speech-language therapy.
• Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient.
• Educate and counsel patient and family regarding treatment plans.
• Maintain clinical records and follow performance improvement recommendations.
• Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from speech therapy services.
• Provide information regarding appropriate support programs.
