Job Summary The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions for individuals with communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders The SLP maintains accurate and timely documentation, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and supports patient and family education to promote optimal functional independence and patient-centered outcomes

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) required
  • Current licensure to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in applicable state
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within time frame required by facility policy
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology related to speech, language, and swallowing
  • Proficient in the use of assessment tools, therapy materials, and documentation systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to function independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Familiarity with ASHA and state practice standards

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred
  • VitalStim certification preferred
  • One (1) year of experience in a rehabilitation or acute care setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations and assessments appropriate to age and diagnosis, including developmental, cognitive, speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and measurable goals in collaboration with the patient, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Reassess patient condition and update treatment goals and plans as needed
  • Provide patient and family education and counseling related to speech-language and swallowing needs
  • Accurately document treatment sessions, assessments, progress, and discharge plans
  • Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff to ensure consistent and effective rehabilitation plans
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, care planning, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Supervise clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel as applicable
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and facility policies
