About The Position

UF Health Rehabilitation Hospital - Gainesville is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist on a per diem basis. The hospital is affiliated with Select Medical and is dedicated to providing exceptional and compassionate care to individuals facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges due to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The compensation for this position is $52 per hour, with a $7,500 sign-on bonus paid after 16 shifts. The hospital offers an extensive orientation program to ensure a smooth transition into the setting and provides opportunities for advancement based on demonstrated skills and dedication. Requirements

  • Current state licensure as Speech Language Pathologist required.
  • Certified CLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction.
  • Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients.
  • Ensures the design of functional treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community activities.
  • Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers and self.
  • Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery.
  • Coordinate treatment program in conjunction with other clinical/therapeutic services as available community resources.
