Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology.
• Current MA Speech Pathology license.
• Member of ASHA (American Speech Hearing Association).
• Attainment of the certificate of clinical competence, typically taking one year.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work cooperatively with all members of the healthcare team.

• Experience in clinical settings related to speech pathology.
• Demonstrated clinical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Conducts diagnostic evaluations of various communication disorders in both children and adults, including language disorders, articulation deficits, auditory and auditory-perceptual deficits, voice disorders, stuttering, and neurological disorders.
• Analyzes client data and interprets test results to physicians.
• Provides remedial treatment in both individual and group settings for communication and swallowing disorders.
• Recommends, designs, and implements augmentative methods of communication when oral and/or aural communication is not possible.
• Provides information about communication disorders to patients, families, and others.
• Designs and establishes home programs and activities for therapy reinforcement.
