This position involves evaluating assigned patients to determine communication and/or swallowing disorders. The role includes selecting appropriate evaluation tools, administering diagnostic testing procedures, providing rehabilitation to restore communication and swallowing functions, and developing treatment protocols. The caregiver will conduct diagnostic evaluations of various communication disorders in both children and adults, provide remedial treatment, recommend augmentative communication methods, and maintain necessary records and reports. The caregiver will also confer with other individuals and agencies involved in the patient's program and comply with established departmental policies and health regulations.
