Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology.
  • Current MA Speech Pathology license.
  • Member of ASHA (American Speech Hearing Association).
  • Attainment of the certificate of clinical competence.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work cooperatively with all members of the healthcare team.
  • Experience in dysphagia required.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts diagnostic evaluations of various communication disorders in both children and adults.
  • Provides remedial treatment in both individual and group settings for children and adults with communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Recommends, designs, and/or implements augmentative methods of communication such as communication boards and mechanical devices.
  • Provides information about the communication disorders to patients, families and others.
  • Designs and establishes home programs and other activities for therapy reinforcement.
  • Maintains records and reports necessary to the conduct of treatment.
  • Confers with other individuals and/or agencies involved with the patient’s program.
  • Complies with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Attends meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
  • Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
  • Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
  • Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrating Standards of Respect.
  • Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
