General Summary Demonstrates advanced clinical skills in evaluating, diagnosing, and developing individualized treatment plans for complex speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. Essential Responsibilities Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Interprets complex provider referrals and evaluates patients with advanced or multifaceted speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. Makes preliminary diagnoses and formulates individualized treatment plans, including regular assessment of progress. Ensures compliance with system-wide, local, state, and federal regulatory requirements by applying relevant standards and best practices. Educates patients and their families about their condition, treatment plan, and strategies for home management. Coordinates collaboration with other healthcare professionals as needed to provide comprehensive care. Actively participates in departmental meetings and demonstrates engagement in service line rounds, journal clubs, or discharge planning. Serves as a preceptor and mentor to new team member as needed. Supports educational initiatives within the enterprise, department, and student programming, including but not limited to training opportunities, presentations, student project development, and serving as a secondary Clinical Educator in the absence of the primary Clinical Educator.
