About The Position

Mayo Clinic in Arizona is seeking a medical Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our nationally recognized team. This position requires advanced clinical expertise in the diagnosis and management of a broad spectrum of speech, language, cognitive, swallowing, and voice disorders. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the SLP will contribute to patient-centered care through evidence-based assessment and intervention in alignment with Mayo Clinic's high standards of excellence, including the opportunity to serve as a clinical instructor for graduate students in speech pathology, clinical fellows, and other medical professionals. Depending on departmental assignment, the role includes specialized responsibilities and competencies tailored to patient populations within Neurology or Otorhinolaryngology.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in speech-language pathology.
  • Current Arizona licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association or academic equivalent with clinical fellowship year pending completion.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date.
  • Advanced skill set and expertise working with the head and neck cancer population.
  • Experience evaluating and treating adults with neurogenic communication impairments.
  • Experience evaluating and treating patients with dysphagia.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with alaryngeal speech and pulmonary rehabilitation in the total laryngectomy population.
  • Familiarity with clinical care pathways in head and neck cancer.
  • Certification/training with McNeill Dysphagia Therapy program, Pharyngocise, manual lymphatic drainage, and manual therapy/myofascial release.
  • Experience evaluating and treating children with communication impairments.
  • Experience evaluating and treating adults with voice and voice-related disorders.
  • Skilled in rigid and flexible video stroboscopy.
