About The Position

We are seeking a Long-Term Replacement Speech-Language Pathologist for the 2025-2026 School Year at the high school level, specifically for grades 9-12. The position will start on September 1, 2025, and will continue until June 30, 2026. The salary will be determined according to the South Colonie Teachers' Association Contract, starting at Schedule 1, Step 1 or $56,546.00, depending on experience and transcripts. Requirements

  • State Licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with students, parents, educators, and other professionals.
  • Proficiency in conducting standardized assessments, interpreting results, and documenting progress.

Nice To Haves

  • 9-12 experience preferred.
  • Awareness and experience with relative technology mediums would be ideal.
  • Familiarity with proper progress monitoring tools and Frontline IEP Management software.

Responsibilities

  • Completes in-depth diagnostic evaluations of students' speech, language, and communication abilities.
  • Presents a comprehensive analysis of students' communication abilities and needs.
  • Develops and implements effective goals, techniques, and lessons.
  • Provides individual and group speech and language therapy for communication disorders, including functional communication, augmentative and alternative communication, oral-motor skills, and speech and language development.
  • Follows students' IEP to plan and implement speech and language activities, monitor student progress, and provide IEP updates during the school year.
