About The Position

The Speech Language Pathologist position at Endeavor Health is a per diem role located in Chicago, IL, scheduled as needed from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. The role involves providing professional speech therapy evaluation, treatment, and follow-up services to physician-referred patients. The position emphasizes one-on-one patient scheduling for 45 minutes, with a commitment to maintaining continuity of care by keeping patients with the same provider throughout their treatment journey. Requirements

  • Graduate from a school of Speech Pathology with a master's degree from an accredited college or university approved by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Hold or be working towards a Certificate of Clinical Competence of the American-Speech-Hearing Association.
  • Hold or be working towards State of Illinois Licensure in speech-language pathology.
  • Must have CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated supervised clinical experience in a hospital, rehabilitation, or similar pathology setting.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in an independent environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality Speech Therapy services including assessment, treatment intervention, patient family education, referrals, re-evaluations, and discharge planning.
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and treatment areas.
  • Complete event reports as necessary and function according to the ASHA Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate patient records including evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and billing.
  • Communicate and collaborate with physicians, health professionals, and family members to facilitate optimal patient care.
  • Participate in the clinical supervision of speech therapy students and volunteers.
  • Teach appropriate speech therapy evaluation and treatment procedures to various groups.
