About The Position

The position involves collaborating with school personnel, such as teachers and psychologists, to best meet the needs of all students. The role requires submitting reports that meet local and state requirements, completing Early Outcomes in the Skyward program, and entering progress every six months. The individual will serve on student intervention teams and Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams as appropriate, coordinating specific objectives for individualized educational programs. Responsibilities also include completing records for third-party reimbursement accurately and in a timely manner, conducting speech and language screenings, and administering formal and informal assessments. The position requires analyzing and interpreting information to make recommendations regarding the need for speech-language services, collaborating with classroom teachers, planning evidence-based interventions, and adjusting intervention strategies based on student performance. The individual will keep data for program planning, attend various meetings, and serve on committees related to curriculum development and speech-language program development.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Professional Educator License through the Illinois State Board of Education.
  • Licensed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).

Responsibilities

  • Administers formal and informal assessments by observing students in educational environments.
  • Analyzes and interprets information to make recommendations regarding the need for speech-language services.
  • Collaborates and consults with classroom teachers in the management of speech-language disorders.
  • Plans evidence-based interventions appropriate for individual students and groups of students.
  • Schedules interventions using a variety of service delivery models.
  • Adjusts intervention strategies based upon student performance.
  • Keeps data for program planning and decision making for students.
  • Attends meetings, such as faculty meetings, special education meetings and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Serves on committees, such as curriculum development committee and/or speech-language program development meetings.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
