The Speech Language Pathologist Coordinator provides inpatient acute care services and is a vital member of a multidisciplinary team providing advanced, high-quality healthcare. This role combines clinical expertise with administrative leadership, overseeing the delivery, quality, and compliance of speech-language pathology services within the organization, ensuring effective therapy programs, staff support, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Requirements
- MBS (Modified Barium Swallow) required
- NYS SLP license and registration
- Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CCC-SLP)
- Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
- Strong communication skills
- 1-2 years of experience required, preferably in a hospital setting

- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Inpatient services of cardiac, orthopedic, neurologic, vascular, pulmonary and medical-surgical patients
- Educates patient and family members
- Work with interdisciplinary team for plan of care
- Develops and implements speech-language therapy programs
- Maintains service quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manages caseload distribution
- Supervises and supports speech-language pathologists
- Ensures evidence-based practices are implemented in therapy services
- Monitors patient/client progress and program outcomes
- Oversees accurate and timely documentation, evaluations, and reports
- Prepares for audits and accreditation processes
- Knowledge of hospital, Joint Commission, state and federal guidelines
