About The Position

The Speech Language Pathologist-CF position is a full-time role located in La Mesa, CA, with working hours from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. The position requires working on both Saturday and Sunday as needed. The role involves providing a complete range of speech-language-cognitive services under the supervision of a licensed and certified speech pathologist. The primary goal is to assist patients in reaching their maximum performance and functioning levels while learning to live within their capabilities. The Speech Pathology department is part of Rehabilitation Services.

Requirements

• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - REQUIRED.
• California RPE Temporary License (Speech-Language Pathologists) - REQUIRED.
• Entry level Masters Degree in Speech Pathology.
• Completion and acceptance of applications to proceed to enter Clinical Fellowship (CF) experience from ASHA.
• Current registration to be completed within the first four weeks of employment with ASHA.

Responsibilities

• Provide a complete range of speech-language-cognitive services.
• Assist patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning.
• Consult with physicians, supervisors, colleagues, and staff about clinical diagnoses and therapeutic progression.
• Maintain clinical documentation including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Manage a full caseload while demonstrating clinical competence.
• Meet with CF supervisor to discuss caseload issues and review clinical documentation.
• Attend or present information at departmental meetings, professional meetings, or conferences.
