About The Position

The position involves performing tests to evaluate and assess speech, voice, swallowing, dysfluency, cognition, and language function using written and oral tests and special instruments. The role includes providing functional treatment for disorders of speech, voice, swallowing, dysfluency, cognition, and language, as well as developing therapeutic plans in collaboration with other specialists. The individual will maintain medical records, monitor patients' progress, and instruct patients and families in techniques to increase functional communication and swallow safety. Additionally, the position requires consulting with and educating medical staff on speech and swallowing topics, supervising therapy students, and keeping abreast of developments in the field.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
• Completion of clinical fellowship program required.
• Speech Language Pathologist license required.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Basic Life Support / CPR certification as a healthcare provider required.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests to evaluate and assess speech, voice, swallowing, dysfluency, cognition, and language function.
• Provide functional treatment for disorders of speech, voice, swallowing, dysfluency, cognition, and language.
• Develop therapeutic plans in collaboration with other specialists.
• Maintain medical records and document evaluations, treatments, progress, and discharges.
• Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatments accordingly.
• Instruct patients and families in techniques to increase functional communication and swallow safety.
• Consult with and educate medical staff on speech and swallowing topics.
• Supervise, train, and assess therapy students during onsite clinical affiliations.
• Stay updated on advances in speech-language pathology.
