About The Position

QUINCY SCHOOL DISTRICT SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY ASSISTANT (SLPA) Supervisor: Director of Special Education Salary Range: PSE Salary Schedule Location/Assignment: Various Schools Conditions of work: 7 hours/day for 180 days SUMMARY: The SLPA will provide services to children as designated on their Individualized Educational Plan and as specified in the treatment plans developed by the SLP.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children ages 0-21 years of age in a variety of settings.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
  • Prior experience working with diverse cultures.
  • Ability to function independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize service delivery and data collection.
  • Demonstrates a high level of competence in written (computer) and oral communications.
  • Experience in basic computer skills (word processing, e-mail, data entry).
  • SLPA certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the SLP with implementation of the IEP for students with speech needs.
  • Be able to work with students individually or in small groups on IEP speech goals.
  • Ability to create an atmosphere for learning and maintenance of student behavior.
  • Ability to collect appropriate data on student IEP goals.
  • Ability to work with a wide age and ability range of students.
  • Collaborative skills when working with team members.
  • Communication skills necessary to work with students, parents and staff members.
