About The Position

Provide speech-language therapy services and assist with workload duties as assigned by a certified Speech Language Pathologist. 1 Provide Speech-Language therapy services on interim basis for Speech Language Pathologist on leave or vacant Speech Language Pathologist positions. a. Meet with Speech Impaired (SI) student in speech therapy room or student's class, as appropriate. b. Meet Individualized Education Plan (IEP) requirements. 2. Communicate with school staff regarding Speech-Language impaired students they are serving. a. Utilize verbal, e-mail, and written communication to coordinate services of students. 3. Communicate with parents regarding student's progress or other parental concerns. a. Utilize written, verbal, and e-mail correspondence to be certain parents are aware of the student's progress. 4. Document student performance and report findings to the supervising Speech Language Pathologist. a. Maintain all paperwork established on existing students. b. Document and track services, progress, attendance, and data collection. 5. Perform school level duties as assigned by local school principal. a. Follow school directives. b. Ensure the continuation of school duties. 6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology required.
  • Clinical experience in services to speech-language impaired students required.
  • Knowledge of child development
  • Ability to communicate with others in an effective and tactful manner
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to be flexible
  • Ability to work as an effective team member
  • Ability to act as a representative of Gwinnett County Public Schools
