About The Position

The Creekside School is growing and seeking a passionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative school setting, supporting students on the autism spectrum who are severely to profoundly impacted. The School focuses on building meaningful communication, independence, and social-emotional growth through individualized, relationship-based approaches. This position is best suited for someone with experience and a genuine passion for helping students develop meaningful ways to communicate and connect, within a supportive, team-based environment dedicated to student-centered, relationship-driven care.

Requirements

  • California SLPA License
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders or a related field
  • At least two years of experience working with students on the autism spectrum with severe to profound needs
  • Hands-on experience supporting non-verbal students using AAC
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Ability to remain calm, flexible, and student-focused in a dynamic classroom environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct speech-language therapy services aligned with student IEPs under the supervision of the SLP
  • Support students in developing functional communication, social skills, and independence
  • Work with AAC devices and alternative communication systems
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, BCBAs, and classroom teams
  • Help train staff on communication strategies
  • Collect and track student data
  • Adjust supports as needed
  • Build strong, engaging relationships with students through child-led interactions
