A Speech-Language Pathology Assista nt (SLPA) is a support professional who works under the direct supervision of a licensed and ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) . SLPAs deliver individualized instruction to students on IEPs, under the direction and supervision of a licensed SLP. This position is paid on the teaching salary schedule, but pays into the PEERS retirement system. Appropriate credentialing required.
