About The Position

The University of South Florida is seeking a qualified candidate for a position that involves providing patient care, specifically in the areas of swallowing, voice, and airway disorders. The role includes evaluating and treating patients, co-managing care with laryngologists, and training family members and caregivers. The position is part of USF Health, which is dedicated to improving health across various dimensions, including community and individual health. The candidate will also be responsible for managing patient records and communicating with patients, along with other assigned duties. This position may require a Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization.
  • Graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse academic degree program or Physician Assistant academic degree program.
  • Certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and 458/459.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in relevant field.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-based environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and skills in instrumental voice and swallowing evaluation.
  • Excellent record of clinical care.
  • Experience with teaching and giving lectures.
  • Supervising experience.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship in Voice.
  • Personal or educational background in singing/music.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ambulatory patient care, including evaluation and treatment of swallowing, voice, and airway disorders.
  • Co-manage patient care with laryngologists.
  • Train family members and caregivers, as well as other professionals.
  • Manage patient records and communicate with patients.
  • Engage in teaching, service, and related activities.
  • May be responsible for research and/or academic advising.
  • Represent the university on committees as needed.
