About The Position

The University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) is seeking adjunct faculty to teach the Speech Communication program on-site at Camp Casey, South Korea. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about education and have a strong background in Speech Communication or a related field. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for engaging adult learners in a dynamic and interactive learning environment. Your primary goal will be to facilitate student success by providing guidance, support, and constructive feedback throughout their educational journey. In this position, you will actively engage students through frequent interactions that motivate them to succeed. You will convey genuine energy and enthusiasm for their learning, guiding them in collaborative projects and problem-based learning demonstrations. Your expertise in the subject matter will be crucial in helping students connect concepts across their academic program. Additionally, you will be expected to provide regular and constructive feedback on student work, utilizing rubrics effectively to assess their progress and acknowledge their accomplishments. As part of your responsibilities, you will also be required to provide feedback to your program chair regarding potential curricular improvements. This role is ideal for scholar-practitioners who are actively engaged in their field and wish to contribute to the growth and development of the next generation of professionals. The adjunct faculty position at UMGC is a part-time role, and candidates must have the ability to maintain their own legal status in South Korea, as adjunct faculty positions are not eligible for UMGC sponsored logistical support.
