About the position

We are seeking an experienced School Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in a full-time capacity. This position offers the flexibility of remote/online work as well as onsite opportunities, allowing you to choose the work environment that best suits your needs. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with speech and language disorders. Your expertise will help students improve their communication skills, which is essential for their academic success and overall development. In this role, you will be responsible for developing individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's specific needs. You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment. Your work will involve conducting assessments, providing therapy sessions, and monitoring progress to ensure that students are meeting their communication goals. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and documentation of student progress and treatment plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in speech-language pathology, with experience working in a school setting. You should be passionate about helping students overcome their communication challenges and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. This position requires excellent communication skills, patience, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities

  • Providing direct speech and language therapy to students with communication disorders.
  • Conducting assessments to evaluate students' speech and language abilities.
  • Developing individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student learning.
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Providing guidance and support to teachers on strategies to assist students with communication challenges.
  • Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to the development of educational goals for students.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Experience working in a school setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of speech and language development and disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with teletherapy or online therapy platforms.
  • Familiarity with special education laws and regulations.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
