To help reduce or eliminate speech impediments that interfere with the individual student's ability to derive full benefit from the district's educational program.
Requirements
Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology
Valid Arkansas and ASHA license in Speech and Language Pathology
Must possess a strong history of Medicaid reimbursement billing
Be cleared through check-out with all PCSSD end-of-year check-out systems.
Responsibilities
Evaluate and diagnose communication disorders according to state and federal special education guidelines.
Participate in evaluation conferences.
Implement an individual education plan for assigned students.
Cooperate with teachers and parents by providing information, discussing appropriate goals and offering any other assistance.
Monitor and conduct ongoing evaluation of student progress.
Participate in parent conferences to review students' progress.
Conduct a conference when additional changes or discontinuance of a special program is indicated.
Cooperate in the districts' inservice training program.
Maintain special education due process/work files.
Document progress of students and maintain information needed for Medicaid billing.
Know Board of Education policies, Desegregation Plan, district and school guidelines and regulations and adhere to the same.
