The SpEd Paraprofessional - SSN performs the day-to-day activities of teaching special education students under the supervision of a teacher. This role does not involve making diagnostic or long-term education decisions. Assignments may include non-traditional learning environments such as building and off-campus work sites. The paraprofessional supports the principal and classroom teachers in implementing Significant Support Needs (SSN) programs, fostering a positive and safe learning environment. They assist licensed special education teachers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, and other evaluative staff in achieving the goals for severely/profoundly disabled students. This position addresses current student needs at the specified school, and the individual may be required to change locations to another school if student needs change during the school year.
