The position involves collaborating with students, parents, and other staff members to develop Individual Education Plans (IEP) through the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process for each assigned student. The role requires implementing instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs for students, ensuring written evidence of preparation is maintained. The individual will work cooperatively with classroom teachers to modify curricula as needed and assist special education students in regular classes with their assignments. A variety of instructional techniques and media will be employed to meet the needs of each student. Ongoing assessments of student achievement will be conducted through formal and informal testing. The position also involves managing student behavior, administering discipline, and intervening in crises as necessary according to IEP guidelines. Consultation with classroom teachers and external resources regarding student needs is essential. Compliance with federal, state, district, and school regulations for special education teachers is required. Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is mandatory, and all federally funded incumbents must comply with time and effort reporting requirements.
