We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated 5G and Spectrum Engineer to join our dynamic team in our Emerging Technologies Practice. As a 5G and Spectrum Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and optimization of our wireless communication systems, with a specific focus on 5G technology and spectrum management. You will work on cutting-edge projects that leverage emerging technologies, pushing the boundaries of wireless connectivity and innovation. The 5G and Spectrum Engineer in our Emerging Technologies Practice will be actively involved in developing proof-of-concepts (POCs) and innovative solutions based on research use cases and findings. This role requires a strong research mindset and the ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical applications within the context of emerging technologies. This position's preferred location is Lafayette, LA, Lebanon, VA, Belton, TX, Knoxville, TN, or Fairfax, VA; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. Due to the nature of this government contract, citizenship is required. Your future duties and responsibilities include conducting thorough evaluations of the developed POCs and solutions to assess their effectiveness and performance, gathering feedback from stakeholders, and making necessary refinements to improve the solutions. You will continuously iterate and enhance the POCs and solutions based on research findings and real-world feedback. Additionally, you will perform network planning, capacity analysis, and optimization to ensure optimal performance and coverage. In terms of spectrum management and planning, you will conduct spectrum analysis and identify available frequency bands for deployment, considering emerging spectrum options. You will collaborate with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary spectrum licenses and navigate emerging regulatory frameworks, developing strategies for efficient spectrum utilization and interference mitigation, taking into account emerging spectrum sharing models. Your role will also involve interference analysis and resolution, where you will identify and analyze sources of interference in wireless networks, including emerging interference challenges. You will implement measures to minimize interference and optimize network performance, considering emerging interference mitigation techniques, and conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve interference issues in the context of emerging wireless technologies. Furthermore, you will monitor network performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) in the context of emerging technologies, analyze network data to identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement optimization strategies to enhance network performance and user experience in the emerging technology landscape. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential, as you will work closely with network engineers, system architects, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of 5G technology and spectrum management strategies within the emerging technology practice.
