About The Position

The Specimen Processor performs laboratory specimen receiving, processing, and distribution functions. This role involves preparing, packaging, and shipping Category A/B lab specimens to approved Reference labs. The Specimen Processor oversees some specimen collection directions according to laboratory guidelines and performs patient data order entry and result distribution to maintain efficient and productive operations of the laboratory. Additionally, this position provides customer service support to phlebotomists, technical staff, and laboratory clients.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Computer experience required.
• Working knowledge of handling blood/body fluid and other laboratory specimens preferred.
• Knowledge of specimen processing and phlebotomy preferred.
• Background in science or equivalent aptitude preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
