Mercy Medical Center Lab, Springfield, MA ATTACH RESUME 20 hrs, Days, one weekend per month You will review requisitions for completeness, enter data into CRT terminal, label specimens, centrifuges and aliquots specimens. Complete reports and documents to maintain quality control and answers telephones, taking and relaying messages. What you will do: Processes laboratory requisitions by accurately reviewing requisitions for completeness, ensuring appropriate signatures have been obtained, and entering patient data, test requested, requesting physician information, and billing information into the computer. Labels specimens, centrifuges and aliquots when it is required for the specimen. Call STAT results as necessary and answers telephones and provides routine approved information to physicians, nursing personnel and other staff regarding specimen requirements, test results, and so forth, and relays other calls as necessary. Position Hours: 20 hrs, Day Shift (5 days a week, one weekend a month), Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Knowledge of medical terminology, medical necessity, ICD-9 coding, specimen processing preferred. Medical or Lab Assistant certificate preferred.
