About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Specimen Processor to join their team in Novi, Michigan. This role is responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures. The position plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy of millions of healthcare tests monthly by preparing laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, including unpacking, routing, identifying, labeling, packing, and shipping them to proper testing facilities. The Specimen Processor is also expected to meet department activity and production goals, properly prepare and store excess specimen samples, and resolve and document any problem specimens.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Experience with MS Office
• Able to lift up to 40lbs.
• Able to pass a standardized colorblindness test

Nice To Haves

• 1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
