About The Position

Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Job Summary Responsible for specimen processing to include sorting, aliquoting, and centrifuging. It also includes registration of specimens, ordering lab tests, specimen labeling, monitoring computer reports and other administrative duties as assigned. Accountabilities Performs specimen processing by identifying, sorting, aliquoting, centrifuging, and labeling biological samples. - 20% Performs semi-technical procedures such as calculating weight, measuring samples, and recording data. - 20% Operates laboratory computers to enter and retrieve lab data. - 20% Performs account registration and orders tests in the applicable system. - 20% Answers telephone inquiries, conducting analytical problem solving. Faxes results, fields specimen handling questions, dispatches couriers, and performs other administrative support and lab-related customer service duties. - 20% Supervisory/Management Responsibilities Job is a non management position that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive. Minimum Qualifications Education - High school diploma or equivalent preferred Experience - No previous experience is required; Six months of experience in healthcare environment involving computer skills preferred Other Required Skills/Experience Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment. Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • No previous experience is required

  • Six months of experience in healthcare environment involving computer skills preferred
  • Knowledgeable on basic medical terminology (preferred)
