About The Position

As a Specimen Processor, you would be responsible for providing technical and clerical support of the Chemistry, Hemo/Coag, Blood Bank, Microbiology, and/or Anatomic Pathology sections at either or both Laboratory locations. This may include one or more of the following: receiving, processing, plating, culture processing and incubation, correct sample storage and distribution of lab specimens. This position may also perform data entry, computer registration, and packing and shipping samples. This may include Reference Lab specimen handling and Courier Receiving/Ordering/Exception handling.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and clerical support for various laboratory sections
• Receive and process lab specimens
• Perform plating and culture processing
• Ensure correct sample storage and distribution
• Conduct data entry and computer registration
• Pack and ship samples as needed
• Handle Reference Lab specimen and Courier tasks
