About The Position

PAML a Labcorp company is seeking a Specimen Processing Team Lead to join our team in Tukwila, WA. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm overtime and rotating weekends may be required The Lead will be responsible for performing specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficient computer and typing skills
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Comfortable handling human biological specimens including blood, urine and tissue samples
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs, work in protective equipment and sit/stand for long periods of time
  • Strong eye hand coordination in order to accurately identify specimens by touch and sight
  • Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree
  • 1 year or more experience in a clinical laboratory or Hospital setting
  • 6 months or more experience leading a team
  • Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the oversight of the day to day operations of the accessioning department
  • Help lead the team in their daily processes and procedures
  • Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
  • Oversee routing of specimens to their respective prep areas
  • Encourage process improvements and best practices
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Resolve any production errors as requested by management
  • Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
  • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Responsible for enforcing and managing policies and procedures
  • Perform administrative duties as needed
  • performing specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures
