The Specimen Processing Supervisor at Quest Diagnostics in Lenexa, KS, is a full-time position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Specimen Processing department. This role requires a commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment while ensuring the highest quality of service. The supervisor will work Monday through Friday from 12:00 AM to 8:30 AM, with the possibility of overtime as needed. The pay for this position starts at $50,000 per year, with potential for annual performance bonuses based on individual and departmental performance. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in accordance with Quest Diagnostics guidelines, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and maintaining the integrity of specimens processed within the department. In this role, the supervisor will lead a team, providing training and support to ensure all employees meet compliance guidelines and competency testing requirements. The supervisor will also monitor workflow from logistics, manage inventory, and oversee the packing and shipping of specimens to other laboratories, ensuring adherence to IATA regulations. The position requires strong leadership skills to foster a participative work environment, encourage employee involvement, and effectively communicate essential information to the team. The supervisor will also be responsible for preparing month-end reports, investigating and resolving customer issues, and participating in various management and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a background in laboratory operations, with at least two years of experience in a leadership role. They should possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and be able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced production environment. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of the department's operations.
