About The Position

Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO) Location: Oklahoma City, OK Hours: Monday-Friday 1400-2230 rotating weekends and holidays Essential Functions: Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shift Perform all assigned duties and processes, including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilities Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive attitude throughout the workday Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful, productive work environment Responsibilities Assists technical staff in routine technical tasks such as: specimen processing, preparation of reagents, loading instruments, aliquoting and transferring specimens. Other duties to include filing, stocking supplies, answering telephone calls, monitoring pending lists, etc.. Receive specimens into the laboratory using Beaker and QLS LIS systems and utilizes Beaker and IM for storing specimens.

Requirements

  • Good computer skills, customer service and communication skills, and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • High School/GED
  • Ability to maintain a professional, courteous, and pleasant attitude in times of heavy workload and stress.
  • Reflect the company’s values in all aspects of performance.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Keyboard skills are important.
  • Good customer service skills, professional appearance and attitude are required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime or other times/shifts if required.
  • Able to work any day including weekends and holidays; able to flex hours and work overtime for other shifts as needed.
  • Position requires data background with abilities to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour
  • Works in a biohazard environment, practicing good safety habits
  • Able to sit or stand for long periods
  • Handles multiple tasks simultaneously and works in a production environment

Nice To Haves

  • previous laboratory experience preferred.
