About The Position

As a Clinical Trials Specimen Management Tech your thoughtful input and attention to detail, when applied to documentation and test information, are crucial to prompt and accurate specimen analysis and patient care. STATUS: LOCATION: DEPARTMENT: SCHEDULE: ATTRIBUTES Strong computer and data entry skills required Familiar with relational databases, reporting tools and medical terminology strongly preferred Ability to multi-task and make decisions RESPONSIBILITIES Specimen Management. Distribute specimens to appropriate department for prompt analysis; perform and document daily maintenance of specimens and monitoring functions; print referrals and pack specimens to deliver to reference laboratories; assist with daily receipt of specimen packages Data Entry. Interpret laboratory requisitions as requested; accurately enter patient demographic and test information; prepare, maintain and log location of specimens in the database Analysis. Compile storage metrics and analyze all activity related to specimen storage; document discrepancies, investigate and initiate action items as needed For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements. Requirements

  • Strong computer and data entry skills required
  • NYS DL - valid New York State Driver's License - New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (NYSDMV)
  • M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting
