We are seeking Specimen Management Associate 2 to join IQVIA Laboratories at Valencia, CA. Shift: Tuesday-Saturday 9:30am-6pm. Job Summary: The Specimen Management Associate 2 supports the receipt, storage, shipment, and inventory control of clinical specimens while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and quality. This role also provides guidance to entry-level staff and serves as a point of contact for routine troubleshooting. What You’ll Be Doing: Accession, store, ship, and manage clinical specimens ensuring accurate identification, labeling, and documentation Maintain freezer systems and specimen inventory in accordance with internal procedures Identify errors or potential issues and escalate to senior staff as appropriate Guide entry-level staff on department procedures and support onboarding activities Respond to after-hours alarms and perform other job-critical support functions Handle receipt of compounds and control materials as required by functional area Support safety, quality, and 6S initiatives and comply with regulatory requirements What We Are Looking For: High School Diploma or equivalent is required; some CAP/CLIA laboratory locations may require a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology. Experience with specimen accessioning, storage, shipment, and inventory management Working knowledge of laboratory procedures, internal systems, and regulatory guidelines Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records and workflow controls Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role: Ability to identify routine issues, troubleshoot effectively, and communicate resolutions clearly Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow procedures in a regulated environment Ability to build effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and cross-functional stakeholders Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures. Requirements
